Project management and time tracking

Forecast is an ai-native platform that allows you to run all project operations in one place. While project managers are able to do many things in one place, the big design challenge is to take the very complex things into and translate it into something that feels simple, is easy to understand and is intuitive. In this project, I have compiled a few snapshots of some of the features that I have designed in the Forecast web app.

Roles and responsibilities: Concept Development, Wireframing, Prototyping, Information Architecture, User Flows, Interaction Design (hereunder Usability improvements), UX Writing, UI Design

About

Through the past 3 years, I have worked on solving very complex problems within project management and time tracking. Within these two areas, there are two main personas; Project Managers and Team Members, who have different needs and reasons for using the app.

While they have different needs, one of the main challenges we continued to encounter was dealing with information overload.

Generally speaking, the approaches used varied depending on the project, but a constant practice was having a good understanding of the problem, defining user requirements, applying known best practice design principles and guidelines, and defining design needs all while working with constraints.

Look and feel

The desired mood that we aimed for was to be perceived as colourful, playful and fun. At the same time it was important to connect the user interface more closely with the brand, which meant applying colours, shapes, fifth elements and illustrations to have the Forecast universe come to life.

Impact

Design has had a great impact on the overall user experience. It took into account the needs and translated that into a more simple and comprehensive user interface.

Design, when done right can help guide the users reach their goals whatever that may be. And even the small details that many may overlook can make a difference, e.g. consistency in visual elements, in terminology and in behaviour which is something that is being emphasised a lot during the design process.
